Liverpool (Gandangara)

In 2022, the National Mental Health Commission visited communities throughout Australia to connect with people who live, work and learn across our diverse Australian communities. In each location we listened to community members as they shared with us what has changed and what is most important to improve mental health and wellbeing for individuals in their community.

Thank you to the Liverpool communities for your open and thoughtful conversations which have informed this Liverpool Community Snapshot of Mental Health.

We invited people with lived experience, their families, loved ones and support networks, and service providers to work with us to shape the future of the mental health and suicide prevention systems.

The Making Connections for Your Mental Health and Wellbeing program (Connections2022) is an opportunity for you to share how recent changes to the systems are working for you and your community, and the challenges you have experienced that are having an impact on your mental health and wellbeing.

  • What has been the biggest challenge for your community in the past 2 years?
  • What has supported your mental health during those times?
  • How will you know when things are getting better for your mental health?
  • What improvements would you like to see happen in your community in future?

Your voice is essential in helping us develop a National Outcomes Framework which will provide timely and reliable insights that enable governments to make decisions with confidence, while improving the levels of transparency and accountability across the mental health and suicide prevention systems.

Thank you to everyone who completed the Connections2022 National Survey. This survey is now closed and results will be available during 2023.

*The Connections Logo - The graphic element of encircling rings represents a place of gathering or a place to come together to connect, listen and share experiences. The separation of the circles through to the centre represents the opportunity for every person to join the conversation at any point in time, whenever they feel comfortable.
